Gongoni - Canyon of West Bengal

Location: West Midnapore , West Bengal 
Gongoni is a small gorge situated near the river Silabati. It is located near a town called Garbeta.

How to reach there from Kolkata :
Go at the bus terminal near Howrah station . Take a bus which goes to Chandrakona bus terminal. Take a bus from Chandrakona bus terminal which goes to Garbeta. After reaching Garbeta , take an auto . Ask the auto driver to take you to Gongoni Khola .
      2. Go to Sealdah station. Take a local train to Garbeta. After reaching Garbeta station , take an                auto to "Gongoni Khola".

                         My experience at Gongoni:  I woke up early in the morning . I went to                                                   Gongoni with my mother and grandmother . We took a bus from Howrah                                               station and went to Gongoni . I was amazed when i saw the canyon.
                        We went down the  stairs which were made for going down the cliff of
                         the canyon.  The place was littered with packets of chips,snacks and soda bottles. The                          people who   litter the canyon do not understand the importance of it . The size of the                             canyon was small compared to the other canyons of the world . It's height was                                     similar to a four storeyed building .
                         

                           I would recommend every person of West Bengal  to go to Gongoni once .
                           But always try to avoid the summer season season as the temperatures at Gongoni
                           are like a furnace. Try to go to Gongoni during winter. Also avoid any public
                           holidays  and festivals because Gongoni becomes overcrowded during those days.
